Why “Tap, Tap, Tap”?

It could be a city council meeting. A school assembly. Even a concert. At some point, some well-meaning individual approaches the mic and with one or two fingers…

“Tap, tap, tap…”

Well it’s about to get started, isn’t it? Communication. Maybe it’s scripted. Or maybe it’s from the heart. But the “tap, tap, tap” let’s you know that ideas are about to be exchanged. Opinions espoused. Information disseminated.

It could be something crucially important. Or it might be silly and inconsequential. Perhaps passionate. Or tossed off. But the important thing is that it’s about to be “out there.”

In this case, the one tapping is me. And I invite you to tap back, if you’re so moved.
